To celebrate the publication of The Dressmaker’s Secret my editor at Piatkus, Dominic Wakeford, invited me to a celebration lunch together with my agent, Heather Holden-Brown. I’d already received Publication Day flowers so was thoroughly spoilt.
We met at the Delaunay, a smart European-style brasserie on the corner of Aldwych and Drury Lane and enjoyed an excellent lunch. I revelled in ‘living the dream’ of how readers might imagine I spend my time, rather than the less glamorous truth of sitting all day before a laptop, hoping the Muse will visit!
I discussed with Dominic in general terms the various ideas I’m working on for future books and will now hone my ideas to present them in more detail in the spring.
