Carole Mathews and I had to laugh when we both arrived at the ball wearing identical boleros over black dresses and gold boleros! We enjoyed a glass of bubbles with Rouge Romance.
The ball was a glittering occasion to raise funds for children and teenagers with heart conditions – a very worthy cause.
After our three course dinner there was the presentation of the Festival Reader Awards and a New Talent award.

Sue Moorcroft was the winner of the Total E-Bound Best Romantic Read Award.

I was very pleased to be shortlisted but the award for the Choc Lit Best Historical Read Award went to Jean Fullerton – a worthy winner!
Finally, Henriette Gyland won the New Talent award.
For the rest of the evening we were entertained by the Chris Flegg jazz band and had time to catch up with friends old and new. A wonderful evening to round off the Festival of Romance!
Thanks for the excellent pictures. I wish I could have been there, but hopefully next year.
You and Carole both look wonderful in your matching boleros.
Congratulations on being short-listed! I really enjoyed the Festival, which I thought was a perfect mixture of glitz and unceremoniousness. How funny that you and Carole Matthews wore the same jacket… There was a time when ladies would have been mortified for that to happen, but now, thankfully, we can just laugh about situations like that.
Many thanks for the mention.
Congratulations again!
You and Carol both look gorgeous!
Super write up of a most enjoyable event and lovely to meet you, at last.
