The Mayor Comes to Tea

Regent Lettings, my day-time workplace, hosted a book launch party for The Apothecary’s Daughter this week. The mayor, Jeff Beck, (left in photo) and his wife attended and he was kind enough to say a few words. Graeme Leech, (right in photo) the owner of the business also gave a speech and he and his wife, Gill, presented a fabulous jereboam of bubbly specially labelled to comemorate the event.

As you can see, I’m rather pink in the photo – a combination of bubbly and feeling flustered at all the attention! I provided home-made cakes and sandwiches, signed books and enjoyed chatting to all the guests about The Apothecary’s Daughter.

  1. I love the fact that the Mayor is called “Jeff Beck”, if that doesn’t get a steady flow of people on your site looking for an ageing 70s rocker nothing will!

It looks like you had a lovely time. I hope you kept the empty bottle of champers as a memento.
